Oil Pastel
Yasmine paints a bird that looks like a moon. In her mind, she draws it out this way because she's still in the process of treatments and she's still trying to find her way back to her normal self. She allows her creativity to take over her brush as she gracefully paints two figures in one.
Yasmine has been painting birds for several years. She recently painted this figure because it allows her to express herself through art and paint something she loves. She had to undergo several surgeries during the course of the disease, and she felt like she was able to express herself through art during these times. With the blissful sounds of the birds, and the beauty of the moon, Yasmine perfectly draws out herself in this image, as we see her in the colors and in the peaceful tonality of the image.
