Inside those CCCL doors, many emotions unite, creating an environment flooded with ambivalent feelings. These feelings get imprinted in the body, mind, and canvases of the children.
It starts with the fear of entering a new place, a strange atmosphere, beeping hospital sounds and that is where the pain starts; enduring new challenges, treatments, and mental clarity. They walk in, entrust us with their lives and we take over with pride, capturing their beautiful moments, filling their hearts with faith and hope.
At the Children’s Cancer Center, we provide the children with the appropriate treatment, psychological support, and education. However, this takes time to build, coping with their lifestyle changes, a routine starts to form between hospitals and medications, back and forth, suffocation and entrapment.
Beyond stress, beyond fatigue, their well being begins to deteriorate but halfway through the treatment, the countdown begins, away with the old feelings, in with the healing, the battle starts, their joy strikes, their deep feelings start to surface, imagining their new lives come into existence, creating and crafting beyond what their dreams are capable of.
In the end, all we can ask from every one of you is an act of KINDNESS to fill their hearts with love.
